After three games on the road, Labette County is heading back home. They will take on the Field Kindley Golden Tornado at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Labette County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Labette County didn't have too much trouble with Paola on the road as they won 56-42. That looming 56-42 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Labette County yet this season.
It was another big night for Hudson Baker, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Labette County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zavier Phillips, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Field Kindley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 57-35 defeat at the hands of Fort Scott. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Field Kindley has scored all season.
Labette County's win bumped their record up to 1-11. As for Field Kindley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Labette County came out on top in a nail-biter against Field Kindley in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 41-39. Does Labette County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Field Kindley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
