Shawnee suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 76-56 loss at the hands of Lima Senior. Shawnee has struggled against Lima Senior recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their defeat, Shawnee saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Beckett Bertke, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Bertke is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Pasion, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Memorial over Coldwater in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Memorial strolled past Coldwater with points to spare, taking the game 64-50.
Shawnee's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Shawnee might still be hurting after the 78-55 defeat they got from Memorial when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Shawnee was down 50-30.
