After a string of six wins, the Terry Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 51-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hattiesburg. The contest was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but Terry couldn't quite close it out.
Terry's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zion Nelson, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and two steals. Nelson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Jones, who scored six points along with two blocks.
Terry's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-6. As for Hattiesburg, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-8.
Terry will head out on the road to take on Jim Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jim Hill is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for Hattiesburg, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pearl River Central at 6:00 p.m. Pearl River Central is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
