Lavaca has gone a perfect 5-0 against County Line recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Golden Arrows will look to defend their home field against the Indians at 4:30 p.m. Lavaca is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Gravette hit Lavaca with a five-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Golden Arrows fell 7-2 to the Lions. The loss was the Golden Arrows' first of the season.
Macie Irby spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on six hits.
At the plate, Lavaca saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Noel, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between County Line and Magazine, and Magazine kept the tradition alive. The Indians came up short against the Rattlers on Friday, falling 13-6. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Rattlers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Virginia Besier was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and 12 unearned) runs off eight hits. Besier was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Tavilynn Fortenberry and Emma Gattis did some serious damage despite the final result: Fortenberry went 2-for-3 with two runs, while Gattis went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Olivia Reames was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double.
County Line's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Lavaca, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 14-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lavaca hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like County Line struggles in that department as they've averaged .383. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Lavaca's way against County Line in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Lavaca made off with an 18-6 win. Will the Golden Arrows repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
