The Freer Buckaroos entered their tilt with the Agua Dulce Longhorns with ten consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 11. Freer took down Agua Dulce 41-26 on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Freer, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Freer found their leader in underclassman Ashlyn Butler, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Butler continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Samantha Barker, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Agua Dulce had strong showings from Alyssa Vinton, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and four steals, and Kaylee Deaver, who scored four points along with five rebounds and two steals. Vinton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.
Freer is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Agua Dulce, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-7.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing La Villa the next time they take the court. Freer will host La Villa at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Agua Dulce will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
