Basketball Recap: Baylin Clodfelter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Forsyth Home Educators over South Guilford Homeschool

Forsyth Home Educators lost against South Guilford HomeSchool back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Forsyth Home Educators Hawks fell 67-58 to the South Guilford HomeSchool Cougars.

Forsyth Home Educators lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Baylin Clodfelter, who went 8-for-19 en route to 24 points. The contest was his third in a row with at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Fisher, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

South Guilford HomeSchool got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nate Martin out in front who dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Jamar Turner, who went 7-for-9 to rack up 19 points and six rebounds.

Forsyth Home Educators has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points over those games. The win made it two in a row for South Guilford HomeSchool and bumps their season record up to 24-14.

Forsyth Home Educators will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Families Instructing Students HomeSchool at 9:30 p.m. on March 4th. Families Instructing Students HomeSchool knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Forsyth Home Educators likes a good challenge. As for South Guilford HomeSchool, they and Greater Cabarrus S will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Greater Cabarrus S will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something South Guilford HomeSchool surely won't give up without a fight.
