Baseball Recap: Palmyra-Macedon Wins Going Away Against Mynderse Academy

Palmyra-Macedon had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Mynderse Academy on Saturday. The Red Raiders were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Blue Devils. The Red Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

Noah DaPolito spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryan Caffyn, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Leo, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Palmyra-Macedon's record is now 7-2. As for Mynderse Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Mynderse Academy will take on Newark at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Palmyra-Macedon will be paying especially close attention to the Blue Devils' game: after the Blue Devils face off against the Reds, they'll take on Palmyra-Macedon again at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
