On Thursday, DME Academy faced Central Pointe Christian Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The DME Academy - blew past the Central Pointe Christian Academy CPCA, posting a 79-49 win. The - have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 21 points or more this season.

DME Academy can attribute much of their success to Asya Lara Barnes, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 18 points. The dominant performance gave Barnes a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaniah Zellous, who posted eight points and 15 boards.

DME Academy moved to 25-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Central Pointe Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-16 record this season.
