The Polk County Wildcats lost against the Sweetwater Wildcats on January 5th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Polk County took a 64-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sweetwater.
Chris Alford continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sweetwater, dropping a double-double on 35 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Alford has scored at least a third of Sweetwater's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Daffron, who scored eight points.
Polk County's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Sweetwater, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season.
Polk County will head out on the road to face off against Meigs County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sweetwater, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Loudon at 3:00 p.m. on January 27th. One thing working in Loudon's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
