After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Milford, the White Pine Bobcats were happy to have found some success on Friday. They put the hurt on GV Christian with a sharp 61-41 victory. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 14 to 7 on the offensive boards, as White Pine did.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead White Pine to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mo VanTassell, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. McCaul Nicholes was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Several Guardians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nick Madsen, who scored 16 points. Madsen scored a full 39% of GV Christian's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrance Turner, who scored eight points along with three steals.
White Pine's victory bumped their record up to 4-12. As for GV Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
White Pine will head out on the road to face off against Founders Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Founders Classical Academy is ranked 74th, while White Pine is ranked 96th). As for GV Christian, they will be playing at home against Lake Mead Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lake Mead Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
