Mayfield and Duanesburg are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Panthers will square off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Duanesburg took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mayfield, who comes in off a win.

Mayfield will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Northville on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Falcons a 14-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.

Mayfield got a massive performance out of Aubrey Byrns, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Summer Herting, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Duanesburg and Galway, and Galway kept the tradition alive. The Eagles lost 13-1 to the Golden Eagles on Wednesday. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Duanesburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Genevieve Rickert, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Rickert is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

The win got Mayfield back to even at 2-2. As for Duanesburg, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mayfield has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Duanesburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Mayfield suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to Duanesburg in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
