Ty Jones Delivers Best Performance of Season
Lakeside came up short on Friday despite Ty Jones delivering his best game to date. Jones rushed for 203 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, and also threw for 247 yards and two touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 101 or more in the last seven games he's played.
Brunswick's probably not too fond of Jones given he always seems to get the better of them. When Jones last faced the Pirates back in October of 2023, he rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also threw for 177 yards and a touchdown.

On Friday, Brunswick got the W thanks in part to Grant Moore playing the best football he has all season. Effingham County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. Perkins and Effingham County will challenge Glynn Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
