After a string of three wins, the Central Jaguars's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a serious blow against Pace, falling 56-15. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Central has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Central saw an underclassman step up: Keenley Carraway scored 14 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Carraway grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lakin Mathews, who scored eight points.
It was another big night for Aisley Shields, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and six rebounds for Pace. Grace Manor was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Central's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Pace, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will take on Milton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pace, they will be playing at home against Jay at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jay knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Pace likes a good challenge.
