With a playoff win on the line, Bonanza rose to the challenge on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Rancho Rams as they made off with a 13-5 win. Winning may never get old, but the Bengals sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Deegan Polson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. John Willard was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bonanza kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rancho only managed seven hits.
Bonanza's record now sits at 16-18. As for Rancho, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 16-18.
Coming up, Bonanza will take on Southeast Career Tech at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The Roadrunners' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Bengals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Rancho does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
