After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Frost, Italy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 43-18 margin over the Wortham Bulldogs. The Gladiators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.
Italy found their leader in sophomore Tatum Box, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Copeland, who posted eight points and four steals.
Italy pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points per game. As for Wortham, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
