Everything went their way against Wilson Prep as Farmville Central made off with a 71-46 victory. With Farmville Central ahead 37-12 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Farmville Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nakevia Phillips, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Kaydien Joyner was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Despite the loss, Wilson Prep saw an underclassman step up: Nakiya Boston scored 14 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Morgan Braswell, who scored six points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Farmville Central and bumps their season record up to 9-8. As for Wilson Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Farmville Central will take on the Pam Pack at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wilson Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Northwest Halifax presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Tigers in North Carolina (the Vikings are ranked 278th, while the Tigers are ranked 564th).
