After three games on the road, Saegertown is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Iroquois Braves at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Saegertown is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Iroquois in Pennsylvania (Saegertown is ranked 147th, while Iroquois is ranked 357th).
Last Tuesday, Saegertown made easy work of Reynolds and carried off a 57-31 win.
Meanwhile, Iroquois was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 55-50 to Eisenhower. Iroquois has struggled against Eisenhower recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their defeat, Iroquois saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Roman Caporale, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. That's the first time this season that Caporale scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Brink, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Saegertown's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Iroquois, they bumped their record down to 2-2 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Saegertown took their victory against Iroquois when the teams last played back in February of 2022 by a conclusive 72-47. Does Saegertown have another victory up their sleeve, or will Iroquois turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
