The Southern Lab Kittens will head out on the road to face off against the Booker T. Washington Lions at 2:50 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Friday, Southern Lab came up short against McKinley and fell 66-53. Southern Lab has not had much luck with McKinley recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite their loss, Southern Lab saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Charles Leblanc, who scored 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. Troy Murphy was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Booker T. Washington also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Edna Karr by a score of 50-42. While losing is never fun, Booker T. Washington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while Edna Karr is ranked 109th).
Southern Lab's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Booker T. Washington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.
