Napavine is on a 12-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while River View is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Napavine Tigers will take on the River View Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Saturday, Napavine never let their opponents score. They claimed a resounding 48-0 win over Adna at home. Given Napavine's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Adna is ranked 199th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only River View walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Asotin 47-20 at home.
River View's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hyatt Clark, who threw for 212 yards and four touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Karson Rawlings, who rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Their wins bumped Napavine to 9-1 and River View to 10-1.
