Quinter hadn't done well against Hill City recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Quinter Bulldogs pulled ahead with a 71-70 photo finish over the Hill City Ringnecks. With that win, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 50.9 points per game.

Quinter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Shea S salyers out in front who posted 19 points and eight rebounds. Colt Werth was another key player, going 8-for-15 on his way to 20 points and six boards.

Quinter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Several Ringnecks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carson Keith, who earned 24 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. That was a full 34.3% of Hill City's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vincent Zohner, who went 8-for-19 en route to 17 points and four blocks.

Quinter has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points over those games. As for Hill City, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-11.

Looking ahead, Quinter won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Rawlins County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Quinter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season. As for Hill City, they will head out on the road to square off against Thunder Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
