The Apopka Christian Academy Lions suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. Their rough 38-16 loss to Innovation Montessori might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Apopka Christian Academy has scored all season.
Innovation Montessori's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trevor Thorsen, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Khalid Imran, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds and five blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Apopka Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 4-8. As for Innovation Montessori, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Apopka Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Bridge to Independence at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Bridge to Independence focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday. As for Innovation Montessori, they will head out on the road to face off against St. John Lutheran at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (St. John Lutheran is ranked 781st, while Innovation Montessori is ranked 789th).
