Perry won the last time they faced Lakewood and things went their way on Friday too. The Perry Pumas walked away with a 12-7 win over the Lakewood Lancers.
Perry got a big performance out of Sammie Kaufmann-Warner, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Kaufmann-Warner also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season. CC Hall was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Perry hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in six consecutive contests.
Perry has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Lakewood, they will square off against Mohave at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
