The Roosevelt Mustangs fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Vista Murrieta by a score of 28-21 last Friday.
Roosevelt had a senior duo take command as Bryan Wilson threw for 257 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.4% of his passes and Mitchell Rodenbaugh gained 157 total yards and a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Vista Murrieta still got an impressive performance from Bryson Beaver, who threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns. Brody Guinn was another key contributor, picking up 120 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Roosevelt's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points per game. As for Vista Murrieta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
Roosevelt will head out on the road to face off against Chaparral at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vista Murrieta, they will be playing at home against Murrieta Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Murrieta Valley is ranked 25th, while Vista Murrieta is ranked 39th).
