The North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers will venture away from home to face off against the Danville Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (North Montgomery has seven straight victories, Danville has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between North Montgomery and Covington, and North Montgomery kept the tradition alive. The Chargin' Chargers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Trojans a 10-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Chargin' Chargers have won three matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Jack Warren made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Warren was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tucker Hinds, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Nolyn Brown, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
North Montgomery was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Danville came up short against New Palestine on Friday and fell 6-2.

Danville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for North Montgomery, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
