Moffat County and Summit are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Moffat County Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Summit Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Moffat County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Saturday.
After a string of three wins, Moffat County's good fortune finally ran out. They took a serious blow against Coal Ridge, falling 76-47. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Moffat County in their matchups with Coal Ridge: they've now lost five in a row.
Loss or not, Moffat County got some senior leadership from Ian Champ hafey and Hudson Jones. Champ hafey dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Jones. scored 11 points. Champ hafey hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for six straight games.
Even though Summit has not done well against Aspen recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Summit enjoyed a cozy 63-47 win over Aspen. The victory was all the more spectacular given Summit's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Aspen is ranked 43rd).
Moffat County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Summit, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
