Bethune is 0-3 against Granada since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bethune Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Granada Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. Bethune is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, Bethune came up short against Wiley and fell 44-35. Bethune has not had much luck with Wiley recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Bethune's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Madilyn Powell, who scored 12 points along with seven steals and six rebounds, and Samantha Robinson who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and two steals. Powell has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.
Meanwhile, Granada came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 39-29 victory over Deerfield.
Bethune has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Granada, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Bethune was taken down by Granada 52-19 in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. Can Bethune avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
