It was a good run, but Fletcher unfortunately witnessed the end of their 15-match winning streak on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fleming Island Golden Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in August.

Juliette Watson paced Fletcher's offense, picking up eight kills. Watson got some help from Keely Pou and her 20 assists. Pou was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Fletcher's defeat dropped their record down to 17-2. As for Fleming Island, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Fletcher didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Nease on the 4th. As for Fleming Island, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against George Jenkins on the 4th.
