They took a 57-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Christian Educational Consortium. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Richmond HomeSchool in their matchups with Christian Educational Consortium: they've now lost four in a row.
Leading Christian Educational Consortium to victory were Jenna Wyndham and Erin Mitchell. Wyndham scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Mitchell dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mitchell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sophie Hales, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.
Christian Educational Consortium's lineup was just a bit different on Saturday as Hales got a bit more time on the court (29 vs. her season average of 14.4). Hales made the most of the opportunity, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds and four steals. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
Richmond HomeSchool has not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Christian Educational Consortium, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richmond HomeSchool will take on Community Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Community Christian Academy is coming into the contest with three straight losses on the road, meaning Richmond HomeSchool will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Christian Educational Consortium, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Academy for Individual Excellence at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Christian Educational Consortium focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday.
