4A District 4 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Doss led 4A District 4 in scoring this week after putting up 57 points on Valley. Devonta Moffitt threw for 107 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 45 yards in the win.
The Dragons' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground James Yarbrough chipped in 105 yards. Dajzon Dukes helped Doss' passing attack out by catching one ball for 41 yards.
Ronnell Colbert was the best wideout in the league this week as Doss defeated the Vikings. Colbert tallied three receptions for 84 yards.
Doss' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Dragons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jerry Coleman has thrown for 349 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Dukes has 19 catches for 245 yards. Yarbrough leads the league in rushing with 655 yards.
A big matchup in 4A District 4 this week will be when Moore takes on Fairdale. The Mustangs are in first place, while the Bulldogs are in fifth place.
Lakunta Farmer's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,836 from 8,318. The improvement came about via a 57-14 victory over Valley last week.
