The MacArthur Brahmas will square off against the Southside Cardinals at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. MacArthur is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
MacArthur will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Jay on Tuesday. The Brahmas blew past the Mustangs 19-1. The Brahmas' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Kaylin Salazar spent all four innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Katelin Keller, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two triples, and five RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Averi Alderete was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Keller wasn't the only one making solid contact: MacArthur kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The Brahmas are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Southside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against South San Antonio, falling 10-0.
Southside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayliegh Tijerina, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
MacArthur's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-10-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Southside, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
Everything went MacArthur's way against Southside in their previous meeting back in March, as MacArthur made off with a 7-1 victory. Do the Brahmas have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
