Softball Recap: Bethlehem Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Bethlehem came tearing into Wednesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Washington County Commanders 11-1. The Eagles/Banshees might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by eight runs or more this season.

Bethlehem let Malorie Thiel and Alexis Hume run wild. Thiel got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Hume got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Hume has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Miller, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Bethlehem always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington County only posted an OBP of .320.

Bethlehem's victory bumped their record up to 18-7. As for Washington County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Coming up, Bethlehem will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Meade County at 6:00 p.m. The last five games the Green Waves have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Washington County, they will venture away from home to face off against John Hardin at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
