The Delano Tigers have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 56-45 to Taft on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Delano in their matchups with Taft: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Delano lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ibrahim Shuwait. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Shuwait is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jotham Amodo, who scored 11 points.
Taft's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Blaine Neudorf, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Neudorf has scored at least a third of Taft's points. Another player making a difference was Ernie Laulu, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds.
Delano's loss dropped their record down to 19-10. As for Taft, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 18-10 record this season.
Delano does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Taft also has no future games currently scheduled.
