Last Friday, Cornerstone Charter Academy narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Coral Shores 40-37. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cornerstone Charter Academy.
Cornerstone Charter Academy can attribute much of their success to Lalalei Cox, who scored 14 points, and Grace Jervis , who scored 16 points. Jervis continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Makenah Maddox was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Meanwhile, Lake Mary Prep had to start their season on the road two weeks ago, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 38-16 walloping at the hands of Sports Leadership & Management.
Their wins bumped Cornerstone Charter Academy to 3-2 and Coral Shores to 3-1.
Cornerstone Charter Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake Mary Prep when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 38-35.
