Mary Butcher spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits.
On the hitting side, Oak Hill got a massive performance out of Meeka Miller, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Ava Pomeroy also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Greenbrier East didn't have quite enough to beat George Washington on Tuesday and fell 6-5. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Reagan Cline made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Haylee Heaster, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Oak Hill's record is now 6-3. As for Greenbrier East, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Greenbrier East's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Oak Hill has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Greenbrier East, though, as they've been averaging only 2.8 strikeouts. Will Oak Hill keep running through batters, or will the Spartans buck the trend?
Oak Hill might still be hurting after the 13-4 defeat they got from Greenbrier East in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
