After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Grayson, Heritage was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes 56-53. While the Patriots didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Monroe Area lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Maurkez Johnson, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Tre Robinson, who scored six points along with seven steals and six assists.

With the win, Heritage broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-5. As for Monroe Area, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Heritage will take on Eastside in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Monroe Area and Walnut Grove will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Purple Hurricanes are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
