Heppner has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against the Dufur Rangers at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Hopefully Heppner is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dufur in Oregon (Heppner is ranked 29th, while Dufur is ranked 211th).
Heppner has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 46-25 margin over Riverside. The victory was just what Heppner needed coming off of a 43-12 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Dufur's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 32-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Horizon Christian.
Heppner's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Dufur, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Everything came up roses for Heppner against Dufur when the teams last played on December 2nd as the team secured a 63-23 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Heppner since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
