Pettisville hasn't had much luck against Montpelier recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Pettisville is taking a road trip to challenge Montpelier at 5:00 p.m. Pettisville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Pettisville not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 24, 2024. They blew past Gorham Fayette 20-2. The victory continues a trend for the Blackbirds in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.
Macy Hoylman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That one hit allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Kelsey Bennett was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Beltz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Pettisville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Montpelier came up short against Northview on Saturday, falling 9-2.
Montpelier saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madelyn Hopper, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Montpelier's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pettisville, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Pettisville might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Montpelier in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Pettisville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
