Northern Guilford added to the longest winning streak in 3A Conference 10 this week by beating Weddington, 22-19. The victory was the 13th in a row for the Nighthawks.
Northern Guilford and the Warriors played the most contested game in the league this week, with Northern Guilford eventually emerging with a 22-19 victory.
Eastern Alamance's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Joey Lanier threw for 41 yards and Matt Pate had 45 yards receiving. On the ground John Lamont chipped in 107 yards. Gavin Dicken helped Eastern Alamance's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 28 yards.
The Eagles' dynamic duo of Lanier and Pate proved to be unstoppable against Eastern Wayne, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Dicken helped Eastern Alamance's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 28 yards.
Lamont provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Eastern Alamance lost to the Warriors. He completed 3 passes for 35 yards and also ran for 107 yards. Lamont's key target this week was Pate, who caught 3 passes for 45 yards.
On the heels of Austin Coltrane and Cj Freeman, Robert Brian Thomas' team has had great success on offense. Coltrane leads the league in passing with 1,686 yards, while Freeman has rushed for 1,517 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is John Kirby's team's Malik Wilson, with 783 yards on 36 catches.
The Eagles led the league in points allowed with 12.
