The Daleville Broncos will venture away from home to square off against the Knightstown Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Daleville put up the most runs they have all season on Monday. They put the hurt on Indiana School for the Deaf with a sharp 24-5 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Broncos with their most commanding win of the season.
Ayden Ramirez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Daleville's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is undefeated (and 4-6 when he doesn't). Ramirez was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

Sigler went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs, while Aikin got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Aikin a new career-high. Brayden Sigler was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Daleville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .737. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Knightstown made easy work of Tri on Monday and carried off a 13-1 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Mason Butler looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Travis Louks and Bryce Marrow did most of the damage at the plate: Louks got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Marrow went 1-for-2 with three RBI. Dylan Bonewits also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
The win made it two in a row for Knightstown and bumps their season record up to 10-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Daleville, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Daleville has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .459. However, it's not like Knightstown struggles in that department as they've averaged .484. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Daleville suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to Knightstown in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Broncos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
