Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for True North

True North won the last time they faced Faith Christian, and Jonas Matthews did his part to make sure it happened again. In a tight match that could have gone either way, the True North Knights made off with a 47-46 win over the Faith Christian Saints thanks in part to Matthews, who posted 21 points and three steals. The contest was his third in a row with at least 16 points.

Faith Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Bryan Galvan, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards, and Jayden Avila, who earned 15 points and seven rebounds. Those 11 boards gave Galvan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Burns, who had four points and 11 rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for True North and bumps their season record up to 3-6. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 3-7 Spring Baptist Academy and 7-13 Faith Christian. As for Faith Christian, their record is now 7-13.

True North does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Faith Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-42 win against Spring Baptist Academy on the 13th.
