The Elbert Bulldogs entered their tilt with the Hanover Hornets with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Elbert took down Hanover 52-34 on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Elbert also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Elbert's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caleb Cornell, who scored 17 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cornell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Logan LaFollette, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Junior Diaz, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Tyler Decker was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Even though they lost, Hanover smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elbert only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
Elbert's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Hanover, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elbert will challenge Flagler at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hanover, they will head out on the road to take on Kim/Branson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
