The Grimsley Whirlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 24 points or more this season. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 76-28 blowout they got at home against Eastern Guilford. That looming 76-28 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Grimsley yet this season.
Richard Goods was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds. The matchup was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nick Keith, who scored nine points along with three steals.
The victory was the third in a row for Grimsley, bringing their record for this year to 8-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Eastern Guilford, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grimsley will square off against Ragsdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
