The Peebles Indians had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They walked away with a 46-37 win over Southeastern. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Peebles also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Payton Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Peebles' points. Angel Gray was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three steals.
Peebles pushed their record up to 10-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Southeastern, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season.
Peebles will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Eastern at 7:30 p.m. Eastern will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 453rd, while Peebles is ranked 132nd). As for Southeastern, they will head out on the road to challenge Piketon at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Piketon and Southeastern are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
