Mater Brighton Lakes Academy has not had much luck with Freedom recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Mater Brighton Lakes Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonathan Burgos, who scored 20 points. The game was Burgos' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Duriel Muehlbauer, who scored 15 points.
Mater Brighton Lakes Academy now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Freedom, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7.
Mater Brighton Lakes Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024. Freedom is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Faith Christian at 2:30 p.m. on December 27th.
