Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Mart Panthers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 28-10 to the Lions. Mart's loss signaled the end of their 15-game winning streak.
De'Montrel Medlock threw for 121 yards on 14 of 24 attempts.
Richard Green was his top target, picking up 62 receiving yards. On the ground,
Jd Bell rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown.
Adam Hill was his usual excellent self, rushing for 139 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching a touchdown for Albany. Hill was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 52 yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Mart to a paltry 175 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Albany's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out five times before it was all said and done. In that department, Lanxton Viertel was the leader with two sacks.
Mart's loss dropped their record down to 15-1. As for Albany, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.
Mart does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Albany also has no future games currently scheduled.
