After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Firebaugh, Hoover was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Immaculate Heart Pandas with a sharp 23-6 win. The Tornados might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by eight runs or more this season.
Evelyn Ortiz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Ortiz was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Haylee Malagon was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in February.
