The McDowell Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 37 points or more this season. They really took it to Burns for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-19 victory at home. Winning may never get old, but McDowell sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Leading McDowell to victory were Kensly Stewart and Khloe Joyner. Stewart scored 14 points, while Joyner scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Joyner scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maris Suttles, who scored eight points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Burns struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
McDowell pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 46 points. As for Burns, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
McDowell will head out on the road to face off against South Caldwell at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Caldwell will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. Burns will be home for the holidays to greet Polk County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
