After both having extra time off, the Macon Tigers and the Hannibal Pirates will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on February 12th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Macon had to suffer through a rough 70-34 loss at the hands of Mexico. While losing is never fun, Macon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 500th, while Mexico is ranked 42nd).
Meanwhile, Hannibal ended up a good deal behind Moberly last Tuesday and lost 59-41. Hannibal has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Macon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Hannibal, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
Macon took their win against Hannibal in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 71-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Macon since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
