The Delta Rabbits will head out on the road to square off against the Manti Templars at 7:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Delta has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Manti will arrive with six straight wins.
Last Wednesday, Delta came up short against Richfield and fell 59-46. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Delta in their matchups with Richfield: they've now lost four in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Cai Henderson, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That was a full 54.3% of Delta's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kale Brough, who scored three points along with four steals.
Manti posted their biggest win since December 2, 2023 on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Juab as Manti made off with a 64-39 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Manti to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reggie Frischknecht, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Frischknecht has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jessen Barton, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Delta has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Manti, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Delta hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 54.5 points per game. It's a different story for Manti, though, as they've been averaging only 67.1 points per game. The only thing between Delta and another offensive beatdown is Manti. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Delta came up short against Manti in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 66-57. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Manti's Austin Thomas, who scored 26 points. Now that Delta knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time?
