Two dominant signal callers in Beau Beshears and Jabez Glanton are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Maclay Marauders will host the Taylor County Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated after five games, but that won't be the case come Friday.
Maclay had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 28-point drubbing they dealt FAMU DRS on Friday. The Marauders simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Baby Rattlers 42-14. The Marauders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Maclay found their leader in freshman Anthony White, who rushed for 154 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries. Those 154 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for White.
Maclay was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 275 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Maclay's defense and their five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Caden Harrell and Justin Murphy, who racked up all five sacks between them. Another thorn in FAMU DRS' side was Jace Wright, who made eight total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Taylor County blew past Destin, posting a 35-6 win. The Bulldogs are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout last Friday was the third game they've won by 20+ points this season.
Maclay's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Taylor County, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Maclay has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 152.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Taylor County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 245.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Maclay couldn't quite get it done against Taylor County in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 as they fell 35-28. Will the Marauders have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other football content.
